Children's Dentistry - setting your little ones up for a lifetime of happy, healthy smiles!
We love seeing children here at Redbank Dental Centre!
When your child first meets the Dentist or Oral Health Therapist we aim to create a gentle, positive and fun experience. We have a selection of colouring activities and children’s books for when they first arrive, put on the children’s channels on the overhead T.V’s for them to enjoy during their appointments, give them hi-five’s and sticker’s at the end.
A question often asked is “When should my child first visit a dentist?” – as a rule of thumb the Australian Dental Association recommends that you bring your child in when their first tooth appears, or when they reach 12 months of age – whichever comes first. The earlier the better, prevention is better than cure! Making your little ones feel safe and happy in the dental clinic as early as possible will help set them up for a lifetime of good oral health!
As your local Brisbane and Ipswich family dentist, we also offer FREE children’s dental to those eligible for the government funded CDBS.
The Child Dental Benefit Schedule was introduced by the Australian Government in January 2014. The Commonwealth-funded program covers the cost of essential preventative and restorative treatments up to a value of $1000 over a two consecutive calendar year period – note: any funds remaining at the end of each two-year period will not be carried over.
CDBS is also means-tested; to be eligible your child must be aged between two and seventeen, qualify for Medicare, and your family must receive an applicable government payment, for example the Family Tax Benefit Part A.
If you would like our reception team to see if your child is eligible, simply give us a call on 3432 3333 with your child’s Medicare details.
