Medicare Teen Dental Scheme 2012

Do you have teenagers? Your teen could be eligible for annual vouchers for preventative dental care… Now that’d give you a reason to smile.

At Redbank Dental Centre we do everything we can to help patients care for their oral health and well-being. This is why we want out patients to know that many local families with teenagers at school this year may be entitled to receive annual vouchers from the Government. These vouchers entitle your child to preventive dental treatment totalling $163.05. This amount, upon presentation of your voucher, can be bulk-billed or claimed directly through our Medicare Easy-Claim facility.

The Medicare Teen Dental voucher can be used for some of the following preventative dental services:

  • Examination check-ups
  • Scale and cleaning
  • Fluoride treatments
  • X-rays
  • Fissure sealing of small decay

Dental treatment is not limited to the voucher amount and we can include all these items and more in one appointment if needed. If the treatment exceeds the voucher amount then payment of the account in full is taken first. Upon presentation of an EFTPOS card we instantly direct Medicare to pay the voucher amount into your account.

Teenagers are known for consuming sugary drinks and lollies whenever possible and as puberty hormone levels increase so do changes in dental hygiene and oral related issues such as decay.
